The wife of clothing tycoon Julian Dunkerton has announced the birth of their first child with a selection of adorable images of their ‘little angel.’

The multi-millionaire boss of Superdry, 55, has become a father after his wife fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper, 33, gave birth to a daughter on Thursday night in London.

Revealing the news to her 60,000 followers on Instagram, Jade wrote: ‘Welcome to the world my darling, Saphaïa Isabella Dunkerton, Weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces.’

It comes days after it was revealed the couple were isolating in a  £14,000-a-night suite at Claridge’s Hotel in London‘s Mayfair with her doting husband to avoid any exposure to Covid-19.

Posting black-and-white images of her daughter online, Jade commented: ‘I can’t describe the overwhelming feeling of joy and love.

‘And so the next chapter of life begins.’

The multi-millionaire couple – who tied the knot at a lavish wedding ceremony at his £50 million Gloucestershire mansion two years ago – relocated to London weeks ago to be close to the private hospital where Jade planned to give birth.

Claridge’s three restaurants have closed in accordance with the latest lockdown but the hotel remains open to guests travelling for work.

Julian temporarily moved his commercial operation to the Mayfair hotel so that the Superdry director his wife and his staff qualified as business travellers.

‘Julian Dunkerton, the multi-millionaire boss of Superdry, has moved his pregnant wife and his core staff to Claridge’s to isolate for two weeks before she is due to give birth,’ a source told MailOnline.

While Julian and Jade stayed in the palatial two-bedroom Royal Suite – rate card price £14,000 per night plus VAT – members of their entourage have had to make do with less luxurious beds, costing as little as £600-a-night.

The couple had been open online about how they were looking forward to the birth of their first child together.

Holding up a scan of her child delighted Jade announced on Instagram: ‘I could not be happier. We are having a baby girl and I am going to be a mummy.’

She added: ‘It has been such a blessing in an otherwise difficult and gloomy time. To have been able to spend my first three months of pregnancy at home has been amazing.

‘Hats off to all the pregnant ladies out there: it can be a rollercoaster of emotions, but we are super excited for the next phase.’

The baby can look forward to an opulent nursery as their Georgian manor house home has a spa, a gym and sauna, and boasts the biggest private swimming pool in the country.

Fashion tycoon Dunkerton sold just under £50 million of shares in Superdry to fund a divorce settlement to his first wife, Charlotte Abbot, with whom he has a teenager daughter and step-daughter.

Last year the entrepreneur led a revolt to oust the board of Superdry in which he owns a £17.4 million stake.

The spokeswoman for Julian Dunkerton and Jade Holland Cooper declined to comment about the hotel stay when contacted by MailOnline.
