Arsenal have reportedly hatched a new plan to try to beat RB Leipzig and Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Hungary international continues to attract attention from top clubs across the globe, with Arsenal regarded as one of the favourites to land Szoboszlai’s signature in January.
However, the Gunners are sure to be facing a battle for the 20-year-old’s services, with a recent report suggesting that Leipzig had stolen a march on both North London clubs in the race for Szoboszlai.
Now, Football Insider claim that the Gunners are prepared to go toe-to-toe with Leipzig by striking a deal for Szoboszlai in January and allowing him to remain at Salzburg on loan until the summer.
Such a deal is supposedly what Leipzig had initially planned for the Hungary starlet, and while the report claims that Salzburg are still reluctant to sell Szoboszlai, it appears inevitable that he will move on soon.
The youngster is under contract with the Austrian champions until 2022, where he has amassed five goals and nine assists in all competitions from the left flank this season.
