Greg Van Roten grew up a Jets fan on Long Island, but the veteran guard is tuning out calls for his team to finish with the worst record in the league for the chance to draft Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, if he chooses to enter the draft.

“It doesn’t matter to me, because if we lose every game there’s a possibility that I’m not going be here next year,” said Van Roten, who signed a three-year contract worth $10.5 million as a free agent in April. “So it doesn’t matter who the Jets end up drafting, that’s kind of how you have to think about it in this league.

“Nothing is guaranteed — not the next game, not the next week, not the next year, not even the next play. You don’t know which play is going to be your last, so you can’t concern yourself with long-term in this league.”

The Chaminade High School product played two seasons with Green Bay and three with Carolina before joining the Jets. He has started all 10 games during their 0-10 start.

Miami rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was limited in practice Wednesday with a left thumb injury, but Dolphins coach Brian Flores said the former Alabama star is expected to start Sunday against the Jets. He was pulled last week for performance, replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Offensive tackle George Fant (knee/ankle) did not practice, and offensive lineman Chuma Edoga (ankle), wide receiver Breshad Perriman, tight end Chris Herndon (back) and linebacker Blake Cashman (hamstring) were limited.

Coach Adam Gase said offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains will continue calling plays, but Gase added, “I’m sending things in. It’s just more a situation that I can help in some of the situation stuff. I think that’s unique and it’s fun that we’re able to work like that.”

Former Jets coach Walt Michaels’ 1978 AFC Coach of the Year award is up for bid in the Lelands Fall Classic Auction, which runs through Dec. 11.
