A woman’s body was discovered by a jogger in a popular Southern California park — and now authorities are investigating her death as a homicide.
The unidentified woman, believed to be between the ages of 35 and 45, was discovered by the jogger in Pasadena’s Hahamongna Watershed Park around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, CBS LA reported.
She had suffered injuries consistent with assault and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
“Right now we’re in the early stages, so it’s not that much that I can share,” Lt. Carolyn Gordon told news station KTLA.
“But we believe at this point, based on some injuries of the victim, that it appears to be some foul play.”
Gordon said it wasn’t clear from how the woman’s clothes whether she had gone to the park for exercise.
Though there were some people early in the park Tuesday, authorities haven’t located any witnesses to her death.
“There was [sic] some people out this morning, but we are looking for witnesses,” Gordon said.
